Description

Yohimbinos (Yohimbine Hydrochloride)

Yohimbine hydrochloride is a synthetic compound classified as an indol-alkylamine alkaloid. It is commonly used as a fat burner, a mydriatic (pupil dilator), and to treat erectile dysfunction. This compound acts as an alpha-2 adrenergic blocker, specifically blocking presynaptic alpha-2 adrenergic receptors. Yohimbine’s action on peripheral blood vessels is similar to that of reserpine, but milder and shorter-lasting. It primarily increases parasympathetic (cholinergic) activity while reducing sympathetic (adrenergic) activity. In male sexual performance, yohimbine can improve penile inflow, reduce penile outflow, or both through its cholinergic activity and alpha-2 adrenergic blockade. Yohimbine also enhances mood and can induce anxiety, although this effect requires higher doses. Additionally, yohimbine has a mild antidiuretic effect, likely through hypothalamic stimulation and the release of posterior pituitary hormones. It does not significantly affect cardiac stimulation or other beta-adrenergic receptor-mediated effects. The potential effect of yohimbine on blood pressure has not been adequately studied and quantified.

Mechanism of Action:

  • Yohimbine acts as a presynaptic alpha-2 adrenergic blocker.
  • Its exact mechanism of action in impotence is not fully understood. However, yohimbine may improve erectile function by blocking central alpha-2 adrenergic receptors, leading to increased sympathetic drive through elevated norepinephrine release and increased cell firing rates in the noradrenergic nuclei of the brain.
  • Yohimbine may also influence other neurotransmitters, including dopamine, serotonin, and cholinergic receptors, contributing to its beneficial effects.

Intended Use:

  • Yohimbine is often used during cutting cycles due to its alpha-2 adrenergic blocking properties, which have a marked lipolytic effect.
  • Alpha receptors inhibit fat breakdown, while beta receptors promote it. By blocking alpha-2 receptors, yohimbine allows fat to be broken down freely, releasing energy.
  • It is commonly used in combination with clenbuterol to enhance its fat-burning effects. Blocking alpha-2 adrenergic receptors can also lower blood pressure, which can increase with the use of other fat burners, while simultaneously increasing blood flow to adipose tissue, facilitating the transport of fatty acids for oxidation.
  • Stubborn fat deposits in problem areas often contain increased numbers of alpha-2 adrenergic receptors, making yohimbine useful for targeted fat reduction.

Dosage:

  • A safe dose of yohimbine is up to 20 mg.
  • Typically, dosage starts at 2.5-5 mg.

Effects:

  • It has aphrodisiac properties.
  • It stimulates sexual desire and increases sexual arousal.
  • It increases blood flow to the corpora cavernosa of the penis.
  • It improves the psycho-emotional background and sexual sensations, alleviating discomfort, insecurity, stiffness and fear during sex.
  • It exhibits antidiuretic effects.
  • It mobilizes fatty acids from subcutaneous adipose tissue, making it useful as a fat burner.
  • Increases physical activity and physical performance.
  • In small doses, it increases blood pressure (through stimulation of the vasomotor center), while in higher doses it reduces it (due to the alpha-adrenergic blocking action).
  • It attenuates the action of serotonin, linked to depression and nervousness.

Side Effects:

  • Fluctuations in blood pressure and tachycardia (increased heart rate due to its stimulating effect on the heart).
  • Agitation.
  • Insomnia or drowsiness.
  • Heachache.
  • Dizziness.
